Hadith 1516
- " اعدلوا بين أولادكم، اعدلوا بين أولادكم، اعدلوا بين أولادكم ".
Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Be just among your children, be just among your children, be just among your children."
Hadith 1517
- " فما عدلت بينهما. أي بين الابن والبنت في التقبيل ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man was sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). His son came to him, so he kissed him and seated him in his lap. After that, his daughter came, and he seated her beside him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not do justice between them?"—meaning, you kissed your son but did not kiss your daughter.
Hadith 1518
- (اتقُوا الله، واعدِلُوا بينَ أولادِكم؛ كما تُحبُّون أنْ يَبَرُّوكم) .
Aamir says: I heard Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was delivering a sermon: My father gave me a gift in charity. Sayyidah Amrah bint Rawahah said: I will not be pleased until you make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to this. So Sayyiduna Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have given charity to my son, and Amrah bint Rawahah has told me that she will not be pleased until you make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: “Do you have other sons besides him?” He said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Have you given all of them the same as you have given him?” He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “This is injustice; do not make me a witness to injustice. Fear Allah and be just among your children, just as you like them all to behave kindly towards you equally.”
Hadith 1519
- " إن عليك من الحق أن تعدل بين ولدك كما عليهم من الحق أن يبروك ".
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my father gave me a gift, then he wanted the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to be a witness to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: “Have you given gifts to all your sons as you have to this son?” He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, it is obligatory upon you to be just among your children, just as it is obligatory upon them to treat you (all) with equal good conduct.”
