Hadith 1428
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "When a man marries off his daughter, he should (first) seek her permission."

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Consult women regarding their bodies (i.e., regarding marrying them off)." It was said that a virgin woman feels shy to speak (so how should she be consulted)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(When seeking her permission,) her silence is her permission."
Hadith 1430
Adi bin Adi Kindi narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Consult women regarding themselves (at the time of marriage)." Someone said: O Messenger of Allah! A virgin girl feels shy (how should she be consulted)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A widow expresses herself regarding her matter, and the consent of a virgin is her silence."
Hadith 1431
When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would marry off any daughter, he would sit by her curtain and say (to seek her permission): "So-and-so man has mentioned so-and-so woman," and he would mention both their names. If she remained silent, he would marry her to him, and if she disliked it, she would lower the curtain. When she lowered the curtain, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not marry her to that man. This hadith is narrated from Lady Aisha, Abu Hurairah, Abdullah ibn Abbas, and Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with them).

Hadith 1434
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A widow has more right over herself (regarding the choice of her husband) than her guardian, and a virgin girl's father should seek her permission, and her silence is her permission."
Hadith 1435
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A widow has more right over herself (in choosing a husband) than her guardian, and a virgin girl should be asked for permission, and her silence is her permission."
