Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty said: The vow of the son of Adam does not bring him anything except what I have already decreed for him. A vow is such a thing that through it I extract wealth from the miser. Because of it, he gives me (wealth) which (in normal circumstances) he would not give due to his miserliness." And in another narration: "Which he had not given Me before."
