Hadith 1423
- " أوف بنذرك فإنه لا وفاء لنذر في معصية الله ولا في قطيعة رحم ولا فيما لا يملك ابن آدم " (¬1) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thabit bin Dhahak (may Allah be pleased with him), he states that in the time of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a man made a vow to slaughter a camel at the place of Buwana. He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: I have made a vow to slaughter a camel at the place of Buwana. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him: "Is there any idol from the idols of the time of ignorance there, which is worshipped?" He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Is there any festival from among their (the polytheists') festivals celebrated there?" He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fulfill your vow. For there is no vow in disobedience to Allah, in severing ties of kinship, or in that which the son of Adam does not possess."
