Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "I am sending you as my envoy to the people of Makkah. Convey my greetings to them and inform them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commands you with three things: ① Do not swear by your forefathers (and according to another narration, by anything other than Allah), ② When you relieve yourselves, do not face the Qiblah nor turn your back to it, and ③ Do not use bones or dung for istinja (purification after relieving oneself)."
