Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I and two sons of my uncle went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). One of them said: O Messenger of Allah! Appoint us as leaders over some of the matters which Allah has entrusted to you. The other also said something similar. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah! We do not appoint to authority in these matters the one who asks for it or the one who is eager for it."
