Hadith 1366
- " دفن في الطينة التي خلق منها ".
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the door of a house in which some Quraysh were sitting. He held the door frame and stood, and asked: "Are there only Quraysh in the house?" It was said: O Messenger of Allah! (We are all Quraysh, except) our nephew is also present. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A people's nephew is considered one of them." Then he said: "This (matter of leadership) will remain among the Quraysh as long as they show mercy when mercy is requested, judge with justice, and are fair in distribution. Whoever does not do so, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither his obligatory worship will be accepted nor his voluntary."
Hadith 1367
- " أما بعد يا معشر قريش! فإنكم أهل هذا الأمر ما لم تعصوا الله، فإذا عصيتموه بعث إليكم من يلحاكم كما يلحى هذا القضيب - لقضيب في يده ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we, about eighty (80) men from the Quraysh, were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), all of us were Qurayshi. By Allah! That day these people looked very handsome. They mentioned women and talked about them, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also conversed with them (and spoke so much that) I wished that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would become silent. Then I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he recited the sermon of testimony and said: “After praise and blessings (I say this): O Quraysh! You are deserving of this (leadership) as long as you do not disobey Allah Almighty. If you disobey, Allah Almighty will send people who will strip your skin off just as the bark is stripped from this branch (which was in his hand).” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stripped the bark from his branch, (because of which) it suddenly appeared white and hard.
Hadith 1368
- " إن هذا الأمر في قريش لا يعاديهم أحد إلا كبه الله على وجهه ما أقاموا الدين ".
Imam Zuhri says that Muhammad bin Jubair bin Mut’im was with a Qurayshi delegation present with Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). He conveyed to them that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated this hadith: “Soon there will be a king from Qahtan.” He (Muawiyah) became angry, stood up, praised and glorified Allah, and said: “It has reached me that some people narrate such things which are neither found in the Book of Allah nor transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). These people are extremely ignorant. Beware of such desires which mislead those who follow their desires. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘This (leadership) matter will remain among the Quraysh as long as they uphold the religion. Allah will bring down on their faces anyone who opposes them.’”
Hadith 1369
- " لا يزال هذا الأمر في قريش ما بقي من الناس اثنان ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As long as two men remain, this (leadership) matter will remain among the Quraysh."
