Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Hasan that Sayyiduna ‘Aidh bin ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a companion of the Messenger, went to ‘Abdullah bin Ziyad and said: My son! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “The worst ruler is the one who is unjust.” Beware, lest you become one of them. He said: Sit down, you are among the lowly kind of companions. He replied: Were there lowly people among the companions as well? Lowly people are found among those who came after the companions and among others.
