Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mu'awiyah bin Khudayj (may Allah be pleased with him) says that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Which of the forbidden things are permissible for me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. The man repeated the question three times, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. Then he said: "Who is the one asking the question?" The man replied: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! It is I." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) poked with his finger and said: "Leave that which your heart dislikes."
