Hadith 1249
- " إنه لا ينبغي أن يعذب بالنار إلا رب النار ".
Abdur Rahman bin Abdullah narrates from his father, he said: We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he went away to relieve himself. We saw a red bird (like a sparrow), and it had two chicks with it. We took those chicks. So the bird began to circle around them. Meanwhile, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and asked: "Who has caused distress to this bird because of its chicks? Return its chicks to it." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw an ant colony which we had burned, so he asked: "Who has burned this colony?" We replied: We did (burn it). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Only the Lord of the Fire deserves to punish with fire."
Hadith 1250
- " إن أنتم قدرتم عليه فاقتلوه ولا تحرقوه بالنار، فإنما يعذب بالنار رب النار ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hamzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you gain power over (such and such man from the tribe of 'Uzrah), then kill him, but do not burn him with fire, for only the Creator of fire can punish with fire."
