Hadith 1201
ـ (لو ستَرْتَه بثوبِكَ؛ كان خيراً لكَ. قاله لهزّال) .
Naeem bin Hazzal narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Ma'iz (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and confessed (to committing adultery) four times. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to be stoned and said to Hazzal: "If you had covered him with your garment, it would have been better for you." This hadith is also narrated mursal by Muhammad bin Munkadir and Saeed bin Musayyib.

Hadith 1202
- " الشيخ والشيخة إذا زنيا فارجموهما البتة ".
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a married man and woman commit adultery, then stone them in any case." This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit, Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b, and the aunt of Abu Umamah bin Sahl, Sayyidah Ajma' (may Allah be pleased with them). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I fear that after a long time has passed, someone will say that we did not find the command of stoning in the Book of Allah, and thus they will go astray by abandoning an obligation imposed by Allah. Be aware! Stoning the married adulterer is a right, when witnesses testify, or the woman's pregnancy becomes evident, or the offender confesses himself. I myself had recited (this verse): «الشيخ والشيخة . . . . » etc. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned, and after him, we also stoned.
