Hadith 1198
- " حد يعمل به في الأرض خير لأهل الأرض من أن يمطروا أربعين صباحا ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One prescribed legal punishment (hadd) that is carried out on the earth (upon its inhabitants) is better for the people of the earth than forty days of rain."

Hadith 1199
- " الشيخ والشيخة إذا زنيا فارجموهما البتة ".
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a married man and woman commit adultery, then stone them in any case." This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit, Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b, and the aunt of Abu Umamah bin Sahl, Sayyidah Ajma' (may Allah be pleased with them). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I fear that after a long time has passed, someone will say that we did not find the command of stoning in the Book of Allah, and thus they will go astray by abandoning an obligation imposed by Allah. Be aware! Stoning the married adulterer is a right, when witnesses testify, or the woman's pregnancy becomes evident, or the criminal himself confesses. I myself had recited (this verse): «الشيخ والشيخة» etc. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned, and after him, we also stoned.
