Hadith 1163
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man began to insult Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) while the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting nearby, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was amazed and smiled. When that person increased his insults, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied to some of his insults. But the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became upset and left. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) caught up with him and said: “O Messenger of Allah! He kept insulting me, but you remained seated. When I replied to some of his insults, you became angry and stood up.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Actually, there was an angel with you who was replying on your behalf, but when you started to retaliate yourself, Satan entered, and I cannot sit with Satan.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When you replied to some of his insults, Satan came, and it is not befitting for me to sit with Satan.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Abu Bakr! Three things are certain: ① Whoever is wronged and overlooks it, Allah Almighty grants him mighty help; ② Whoever gives gifts to maintain ties, Allah Almighty gives him abundance; and ③ Whoever begins to ask (people) to increase his wealth, Allah Almighty increases the decrease of his wealth.”
Hadith 1164
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever asks (begs) while he possesses wealth that suffices him, then on the Day of Resurrection his asking will appear on his face as scratches and wounds, and as the condition of a torn face." Someone asked: "O Messenger of Allah! How much (wealth) suffices him?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Fifty dirhams or gold equivalent to its value."
