Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am a treasurer (that is, a keeper of the treasury), and the Giver is Allah Almighty. Whoever I give to with a cheerful heart (and willingness), there will be blessing in it for him. And whoever I give to because of his greed and persistent asking, then he will be like the person who keeps eating but is never satisfied."
