Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Indeed, what remains of this world is trial and tribulation. The example of each of your deeds is like a vessel: if the upper part (of what is placed in it) is good, then the lower part is also good, and if the upper part is filthy, then the lower part is also filthy."
