Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Waqqad Al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When revelation would descend upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we would come to him. One day he related to us: "Indeed Allah, the Exalted, has said: We have sent down wealth only for establishing prayer and giving zakat. If the son of Adam were to have a valley full (of wealth), he would wish to have two valleys, and if he had two valleys, he would desire to have a third. Nothing fills the belly of Adam except dust, and Allah accepts the repentance of whoever turns to Him in repentance."
