Hadith 980
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks refuge by invoking Allah, grant him refuge, and whoever asks you in the name of Allah, then give to him."
Hadith 981
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we were sitting when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: "Shall I tell you about the person who is the best in rank?" We said: Why not. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the man who holds the reins of his horse in the way of Allah (i.e., he is ready to fight along with his horse) until he dies or is martyred." Then he said: "Now shall I tell you about the person who is next in rank after him?" We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the man who resides in a mountain pass, establishes prayer, pays zakat, and keeps away from people." Then he said: "Now shall I also tell you about the person who is the worst in rank?" We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is the one who, when asked in the name of Allah, the Most Great, does not give."
Hadith 982
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever seeks refuge with you by Allah’s name, grant him refuge; and whoever asks you by Allah’s name, give to him; and whoever invites you, accept his invitation; and whoever seeks your help for Allah’s sake, help him; and whoever does good to you, repay him, and if you do not have the means to repay him, then pray for him (and pray so much) until you feel that you have repaid him.”
