Reward for freeing slaves
Hadith 971
- " 1 - أيما امرئ مسلم أعتق امرأ مسلما كان فكاكه من النار، يجزي كل عضو منه عضوا منه، 2 - وأيما امرئ مسلم أعتق امرأتين مسلمتين كانتا فكاكه من النار، يجزي كل عضو فيهما عضوا منه. 3 - وأيما امرأة مسلمة أعتقت امراة مسلمة كانت فكاكها من النار، يجزي كل عضو منها عضوا منها ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) and others that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(1) Whoever Muslim frees a Muslim slave, it will be a cause of freedom from the Fire for him; every limb of the slave will suffice for every limb of the one who freed him. (2) Whoever Muslim frees two Muslim women, they will be a cause of deliverance from the Fire of Hell for him; every limb of both of them will suffice for every limb of the one who freed them. (3) Whoever Muslim woman frees a Muslim woman, she will be a cause of freedom from the Fire of Hell for her; every limb of the freed woman will suffice for every limb of the one who freed her."
