Hadith 969
- " إنا لا نقبل شيئا من المشركين ".
Hakim bin Hizam says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most beloved to him in the era of ignorance. When you claimed prophethood and migrated towards Madinah, and Hakim bin Hizam, while he was a disbeliever, came to Makkah during the season of Hajj and saw that a fine garment of Dhi Yazan was being sold, he bought it to gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and reached Madinah. When he presented this garment as a gift before you (peace and blessings be upon him), you refused to accept it. Ubaydullah says: I think that you (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We do not accept anything from the polytheists, but if you really want to give it, then we will buy it in exchange for its price." When you refused to accept the gift, I gave it (in exchange for the price).

The Prophet presented Islam to him, but he refused to accept it. Then he presented a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "I do not accept the gift of a polytheist."
