Hadith 950
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Taghlib (may Allah be pleased with him) that some wealth or captives were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He distributed them, giving to some people and not giving to others. When it reached him that those whom he (peace and blessings be upon him) had not given expressed displeasure, he praised and glorified Allah and said: "As for what follows, by Allah! I give to some and do not give to others. Those whom I leave out (and do not give any wealth, etc.) are more beloved to me than those to whom I give. (Remember) I only give to them because I see anxiety and restlessness in their hearts, and I entrust the others to the richness and goodness that Allah has placed in their hearts. Among those people is Amr bin Taghlib." Amr bin Taghlib says: By Allah! I would not prefer to have red camels in exchange for the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about me.
Hadith 951
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I give them for the sake of bringing the hearts of the Quraysh together, because they have only recently abandoned ignorance (Jahiliyyah)."
Hadith 952
Sayyiduna Amr bin Taghlib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave wealth to some people and left out others. When those who were left out expressed displeasure, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I give to some people because I fear their impatience and lack of endurance, and I entrust others to the richness and goodness that Allah has placed in their hearts. Amr bin Taghlib is among such people." Sayyiduna Amr bin Taghlib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah! I would not prefer to have red camels in exchange for the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about me.
