Hadith 928
- " يا فاطمة! (هي بنت قيس) إن الحق [عز وجل] لم يبق لك شيئا. قاله صلى الله عليه وسلم لها حين قالت: خذ من طوقي الذهبي ما فرض الله ".
Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I brought a necklace to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which contained seventy (70) mithqal of gold. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Take from it the obligatory portion (zakat) prescribed by Allah Almighty. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took one and three-quarters mithqal and returned the rest. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Take the portion that Allah Almighty has prescribed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed that wealth among those six categories and others besides them, and said: “Fatimah! Indeed, Allah the Exalted has not left anything for you.” I said: O Messenger of Allah! I will be pleased with that which Allah Almighty and His Messenger are pleased with.
Hadith 929
- " يا معشر المهاجرين والأنصار إن من إخوانكم قوما ليس لهم مال ولا عشيرة، فليضم أحدكم إليه الرجلين أو الثلاثة ".
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to go on a military expedition and said: "O Muhajirun and Ansar! Some of your brothers have neither wealth nor relatives with them. Some of you should take two or three of them along with yourselves." Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: None of us had a mount of our own; rather, just as it was their turn, so too did we have a turn to ride. I took two or three individuals along with me. He says: Just as it was their turn, so too did I have a turn to ride my camel (that is, the camel was mine, but everyone’s turns were equal).
