Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Ata bin Yasar narrates from an Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Anas Ansari kissed his wife while fasting during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Then he said to his wife: Go and ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this issue. She asked him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "(There is no harm) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) himself does this." She clarified the situation to her husband, but he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is sometimes given concessions in certain matters (which are not for ordinary believers), so go again and present my objection before him. She went again to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: My husband says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is given permission for some things as a special case (but what about us)? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I am the one among you who fears Allah the most and knows His limits the best."

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did an action and then granted a concession in it. When this reached the Companions, they disliked this concession and began to avoid it. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) learned of their attitude, he stood up as a preacher and said: "What is the matter with people that a concession from me has reached them, but they disliked it and began to avoid it? By Allah! I am the one who knows Allah the most and fears Him the most among you."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss (his wives) while fasting and would also lie down with them, but he had the greatest control over his desires.

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss me, even though he would be fasting and I would also be fasting.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when a young man came and said: O Messenger of Allah! Can I kiss (my wife) while fasting? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." Then an old man came and said: Can I kiss (my wife) while fasting? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." We began to look at each other (because of this difference), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the old man can control himself."
