Virtue of outward humility in prayer
Hadith 795
- (لأنْ يُمسكَ أحدُكم يَدَهُ عَنِ الحَصى [في الصلاة] خيرٌ له من مئةِ ناقةٍ؛ كلُّها سُودُ الحَدَقِ؛ فإن غَلَبَ أحدَكم الشيطانُ فَلْيَمسحْ مَسحةً واحدةً) .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For any one of you to restrain his hand from pebbles during prayer is better than a hundred black-eyed she-camels. If Satan overcomes him, then let him wipe (his hand) once and clean it."
