Hadith 753
- " الفجر فجران، فجر يقال له: ذنب السرحان، وهو الكاذب يذهب طولا ولا يذهب عرضا، والفجر الآخر يذهب عرضا ولا يذهب طولا ".
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two types of dawn: one is the false dawn, in which the light rises upwards like the tail of a wolf, not spreading horizontally; and the other is the (true) dawn, in which the light spreads horizontally, not vertically."
Hadith 754

- " الفجر فجران فجر يحرم فيه الطعام وتحل فيه الصلاة وفجر تحرم فيه الصلاة ويحل فيه الطعام ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two types of dawn: (1) The (true) dawn, in which eating (the pre-dawn meal) becomes forbidden and performing the (Fajr) prayer becomes permissible; and (2) The (false) dawn, in which performing the (Fajr) prayer is forbidden and eating (the pre-dawn meal) is permissible."
