Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Abdul Malik bin Rabee’ bin Sabrah bin Ma’bad narrates from his father Rabee’, and he from his grandfather Sayyiduna Sabrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Place a sutrah in prayer, even if it is an arrow.” And in another narration: “Each one of you should place a sutrah in prayer.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When a person offers prayer with a sutrah (barrier) in front of him, he should stand close to it so that Satan does not pass between the worshipper and the sutrah.”
