Reason for performing four Sunnah before Dhuhr
Hadith 638
- (كان يصلي قبلَ الظُّهرِ- بعد الزّوالِ- أربعاً، ويقولُ: إن أبوابَ السّماءِ تُفتحُ [فيها] ، فأحبُّ أن أقدِّم فيها عمَلاً صالحاً) .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray four rak‘ahs after the sun had passed its zenith and before the Zuhr prayer, and he would say: “At this time, the gates of the heavens are opened, and I wish that a righteous deed of mine be raised up.”
