Hadith 629
- " إذا حضر أحدكم الأمر يخشى فوته فليصل هذه الصلاة. (يعني الجمع بين الصلاتين ) ".
Kathir bin Qarwand says that we asked Salim bin Abdullah about the travel prayer of his father, Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). He narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When someone is faced with a matter and fears missing it, he should pray in this manner (i.e., combine two prayers)."
Hadith 630
- " صلى بنا بالمدينة ثمانيا وسبعا (¬1) : الظهر والعصر، والمغرب والعشاء ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in eight and seven rak‘ahs together in Madinah (i.e., he combined Zuhr and Asr, and Maghrib and Isha prayers and performed them together).
Hadith 631
- " صنعت هذا لكي لا تحرج أمتي. يعني الجمع بين الصلاتين ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) combined the Zuhr and Asr, and Maghrib and Isha prayers and offered them together. When he was asked about the reason, he said: "I have offered these prayers in this manner so that my Ummah does not fall into hardship."
