Reward and reason for praying in seclusion
Hadith 591
ـ (صلاةُ الرّجلِ في جماعةٍ تزيدُ على صَلاتِهِ وحدَه خمْساً وعشرينَ دَرجَةً، وإنْ صلاها بأرضِ فلاةٍ، فأتمّ وُضوءها وركوعَها وسجودَها؛ بلغتْ صلاتُه خمسينَ درجةٍ) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man's prayer with the congregation is twenty-five degrees superior to his prayer alone, and if he is in a deserted wilderness and performs ablution, bowing, and prostration in a complete manner, then his prayer reaches up to fifty degrees."
Hadith 592
- " يعجب ربكم من راعي غنم في رأس شظية بجبل يؤذن بالصلاة ويصلي فيقول الله عز وجل: انظروا إلى عبدي هذا يؤذن ويقيم الصلاة يخاف مني، فقد غفرت لعبدي وأدخلته الجنة ".
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Your Lord is amazed at the shepherd who is on the top of a mountain herding his goats, and he gives the call to prayer (adhan) and performs the prayer. Allah Almighty says to the angels: Look at My servant, he is giving the adhan and establishing the prayer, he fears Me. I have forgiven My servant and admitted him to Paradise."
