Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), he says: This is the Sunnah of Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him). That is, when a traveler follows a resident in prayer, he should complete the prayer; otherwise, he should shorten it.
