Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaidullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that there were two men from the branch "Bali" of the tribe Quda'ah. One of them was martyred, and the other died a year after him. Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw in a dream that the door of Paradise was opened and the one who died later entered Paradise before the one who was martyred. I was greatly surprised. When morning came, I mentioned this dream, and the matter reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Did he (the one who died later) not fast during Ramadan after the one who was martyred, and did he not offer six thousand (obligatory) prayers and even more supererogatory rak‘ahs in that year?"
