Hadith 430
- (يا أبا رافعٍ! إنّها لم تَأْمُرْكَ إلا بخيرٍ. أي: بالوضوءِ من الريحِ) .
It is narrated from the wife of the Messenger, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that the slave woman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), or the wife of his slave Abu Rafi', sought permission to complain to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about Abu Rafi', who had beaten her. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Abu Rafi', "Abu Rafi'! What is the matter between you and her?" He said, "She causes me trouble." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Salma! What trouble did you cause him?" She said, "O Messenger of Allah! I did not cause him any trouble. (The real matter is that) he became invalidated in his prayer, so I said to him: Abu Rafi'! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded the Muslims that if anyone passes wind, he should perform ablution again." The wording of Tabarani is: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever passes wind should perform ablution again." (Upon hearing this from me) he got up and started beating me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to smile at her words and said, "Abu Rafi'! She only commanded you to do good."
Hadith 431

It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any man touches his private part with his hand, he should perform ablution."
