Amount of water for ghusl and wudu
Hadith 419
- " الغسل صاع، والوضوء مد ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ghusl can be performed with one sa’ and wudu with one mudd."
Hadith 420
- " يجزئ من الوضوء مد، ومن الغسل صاع ".
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A mudd of water is sufficient for ablution and a sa’ is sufficient for bathing." This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Aqil bin Abi Talib, Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them).
