Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) there were two brothers. One of them used to come to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and in another narration, it is mentioned that he used to listen to the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) speech and attend his gatherings, while the other brother used to earn a livelihood. The brother who earned a livelihood came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and (complaining) said: O Messenger of Allah! My brother does not help me at all. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Perhaps you are provided for because of him.”
