Supplicating Allah for beneficial knowledge
Hadith 370
- " سلوا الله علما نافعا وتعوذوا بالله من علم لا ينفع ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Ask Allah for knowledge that is beneficial, and seek His protection from knowledge that is of no benefit."
Hadith 371
- (كان يقولُ: اللهمَّ! انفعْني بما علَّمْتني، وعلِّمْنِي ما ينفعُني، وارزقْني عِلْماً تنفعُني به) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "O Allah! Benefit me through what You have taught me, and teach me what will benefit me, and grant me such knowledge through which You will benefit me."
