Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Learn the Qur’an and ask Allah for Paradise through it, before there come people who will learn it but will seek the world through it. There are three types of people who learn the Noble Qur’an: the man who boasts through it, the man who earns through it, and the person who recites it for the sake of Allah Almighty.”
