Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

‘Amir bin Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The greatest offender among the Muslims is the one who asked about something which was not forbidden, but due to his persistent questioning, it was declared forbidden for the people because of his question.”
