Hadith 215
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Evil omen is shirk, and whoever among us has it, Allah removes it through trust in Him."
Hadith 216
Saeed bin Musayyib says: I asked Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) about bad omens. He rebuked me and said: Who told you this? I disliked mentioning the name of the one who told me. Then he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There is no contagious disease, no bad omen, and the owl’s cry has no effect. If there were to be any bad omen, it would be in the horse, the wife, and the house. When you hear that a plague has spread in a certain area, do not go there, and if you are in that area, do not leave it.”
Hadith 217
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no contagious disease, nor is there any bad omen, and bad luck (or misfortune) is found in three things: a wife, a horse, and a house."
Hadith 218
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever practices soothsaying, or soothsaying is practiced for him, or who returns from a journey taking an evil omen, cannot attain the highest ranks."
Hadith 219
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No disease is contagious, nor is there any bad omen, but I like a good omen."
Hadith 220
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a brass ring on a man's arm and asked: "What is this?" He said: "It is because of weakness." He said: "If you die while wearing this ring, you will be entrusted to it." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes an evil omen or has an evil omen taken for him, or practices soothsaying or has soothsaying done for him, or practices magic or has magic done for him, he is not from among us."
Hadith 221
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever practices magic himself or magic is practiced for him, or whoever practices soothsaying or soothsaying is practiced for him, or whoever takes an evil omen or an evil omen is taken for him, he is not from among us."
