Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Yunus bin Maisarah bin Hublas says: We went to Yazid bin Aswad and Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) also arrived there. When Yazid saw him, he stretched out his hand and took his hand, and wiped it over his face and chest because with this hand he had pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: Yazid! What is your opinion about your Lord? He said: I have good expectations. He said: Rejoice, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah Almighty says: I am as My servant thinks of Me; if he thinks well, then it will be good for him, and if he thinks badly, then it will be bad for him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty said: I deal with My servant according to what he thinks of Me, and when he calls upon Me, I am with him."
