Hadith 79
- " ادعوا الناس، وبشرا ولا تنفرا، ويسرا ولا تعسرا ".
Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me and Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) towards Yemen and said: "Invite the people (to Islam), give them glad tidings, do not make them averse, and make things easy (in religion), do not make it difficult." I said: Please clarify the legal ruling about two types of wine that we used to prepare in Yemen: «بتع» that is, nabidh of honey which becomes strong (and takes the form of wine). And «مزر» that is, nabidh of corn, which also becomes strong (and takes the form of wine). The narrator says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was granted extremely comprehensive and concise words. He said: "I forbid every intoxicating thing that makes one unconscious from prayer (regardless of what it is made from)." In the narration of Sahih Muslim, instead of «ولا تعسرا» there are the words «وعلما» "and teach the people."
