Yahya bin Ya’mar and Humaid bin Abdur Rahman say: We met Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and we mentioned before him the topic of Qadar (Divine Decree) and the opinions of people about it... A man from the tribe of Muzaynah or Juhainah said: O Messenger of Allah! In what are we acting? Is it according to something that has already been decided (decreed), or is it something new? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “According to that (Qadar) which has already been decided.” He or another man said: “Then what is the reality of action?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The deeds of the people of Paradise are made easy for them, and the deeds of the people of Hell are made easy for them.”

Hadith 72
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty created the Pen first, and He held it in His right hand. And both of Allah's hands are right. And He wrote the world, and every good and evil deed done in the world, and every moist and dry thing, and counted all things with Him in the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz). Then He said: If you wish, (regarding this, recite this verse): «هذا كتابُنا يَنْطِقُ عليكم بالحق إنا كنا نَسْتَنْسِخُ ما كنتم تعملون» 'This is Our Book that speaks about you in truth; indeed, We were recording what you used to do.' (Surah al-Jathiyah: 29). Writing and copying happens only in that matter which has already been completed."
