Hadith 21
- " أما أبوك فلو كان أقر بالتوحيد، فصمت وتصدقت عنه نفعه ذلك ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: As bin Wa'il made a vow in the days of ignorance that he would slaughter one hundred camels (but he died before fulfilling the vow). His son Hisham bin As slaughtered fifty camels for his share, and the other son, Sayyiduna Amr, asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If your father had affirmed the oneness of Allah and you had fasted or given charity on his behalf, it would have benefited him."

Hadith 22
- " لا، إنه كان يعطي للدنيا وذكرها وحمدها، ولم يقل يوما قط: رب اغفر لي خطيئتي يوم الدين ".
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Hisham bin Mughirah used to maintain ties of kinship, host guests, free slaves, and feed people, and if he had found the era of Islam, he would have become a Muslim as well. Will these deeds prove beneficial for him? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “No, he used to give for worldly purposes, fame and reputation, and flattery and praise; he never said even for a single day: O my Lord! Forgive my sins on the Day of Resurrection.”
