Silsilah Sahihah

Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and sought permission to enter upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He had heard that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was raising her voice over the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission and he entered and said: “O daughter of Umm Ruman!” and tried to grab her, “Do you raise your voice over the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?” But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intervened between the two of them. When Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) left, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), trying to please Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), said: “See how I intervened between you and that man.” (Meanwhile) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came again and sought permission and heard that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was making Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) laugh. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted him permission, and he entered. (This time) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Messenger of Allah! Include me in your atmosphere of peace and reconciliation just as you included me in your quarrel.”
