The miser should at least spend on himself
Hadith 977
- " يا أيها الناس! ابتاعوا أنفسكم من الله من مال الله، فإن بخل أحدكم أن يعطي ماله للناس فليبدأ بنفسه وليتصدق على نفسه، فليأكل وليكتس مما رزقه الله عز وجل ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O people! Buy your souls from Allah with the wealth He has given you. If anyone is miserly and does not give his wealth to people, then let him begin with spending on himself and give charity to his own self (and that is in such a way) that he eats and wears from the provision Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has given him."
