Hadith 927

Ubaydullah bin Abbas says that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: "My nephew! I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and I was holding his hand. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Abu Dharr! If I were to receive gold or silver equal to Mount Uhud, I would spend it in the way of Allah, and on whichever day I die, I would not wish that even a qirat of it remains with me.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! (What are you saying) a qintar?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Abu Dharr! I am inclined towards little and you towards much? I desire the Hereafter and you desire the world? (I am saying:) qirat.' These words were repeated three times."
