Spending surplus wealth is better; giver is better than receiver
Hadith 919
- " إن الله عز وجل يقول: يا ابن آدم! إن تعط الفضل فهو خير لك، وإن تمسكه فهو شر لك، وابدأ بمن تعول، ولا يلوم الله على الكفاف، واليد العليا خير من اليد السفلى ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says: O son of Adam! If you spend what is surplus to your needs, it is better for you, and if you withhold it, it is bad for you. And Allah does not reproach for sustenance that is just sufficient. And begin (spending) with your dependents, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand."
