Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was present with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when two men came to him. One of them complained of poverty and destitution, and the other complained of the insecurity of the roads. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As for the matter of the insecurity of the roads, it is only for a short time; after that (there will be such peace that) caravans carrying grain will travel towards Makkah without a guard. And as for poverty and destitution, (do not worry about it) before the Hour is established, one of you will go around with his charity but (due to the abundance of wealth) he will not find anyone who will accept his charity. (Remember that) each one of you will stand before Allah, and there will be no veil between them nor any interpreter to interpret. Allah will ask: Did I not give you wealth? He will say: Of course. Then Allah will ask: Did I not send a messenger to you? He will say: Of course. So when he looks to his right, he will see only the Fire, and when he looks to his left, he will see only the Fire. So let each of you protect himself from the Fire, even if it be with half a date, and if he does not find that, then with a good word.
