Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah and Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with them), they say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah Almighty says: Surely, fasting is for Me and I alone will give its reward. Without doubt, the fasting person has two joys: when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah Almighty and He gives him his reward, he will be happy. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! The smell from the mouth of the fasting person is purer with Allah than the fragrance of musk.”
