Advancing or delaying congregational prayer due to crowd
Hadith 780
- (كان يخرج بعد النداء إلى المسجد، فإذا رأى أهل المسجد قليلاًً؛ جلس حتى يرى منهم جماعةً ثم يصلي، وكان إذا خرج فرأى جماعة، أقام الصلاة) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salim Abu Nadrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go towards the mosque after the call to prayer (adhan). When he (peace be upon him) saw that there were few worshippers, he would sit down until the whole congregation gathered, then he would lead the prayer. And when he (peace be upon him) left the house and saw that the congregation of worshippers had already gathered, he would establish the prayer immediately.
