Hadith 527

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, who says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A man's prayer with the congregation is twenty-five degrees greater than his prayer alone, and if he is in a deserted wilderness and performs ablution, bowing, and prostration in a complete manner, then his prayer reaches up to fifty degrees."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Mahfooz Ahmad
➊ These are the blessings of devotion to Allah (lillahiya) and sincerity (ikhlas): the more a person distances himself from ostentation (riya), the more deserving he becomes of reward and recompense.

➋ It is also understood from this that performing the prayer (salah) with moderation, and completing the bowing (ruku) and prostration (sujud), is part of the perfection of the prayer.

➌ It is necessary for a Muslim to perform prayer in the mosque, but if he is in an uninhabited area, or on a journey, or at such a place where reaching the mosque is impossible for him, then in such circumstances the importance of prayer may increase. This is because where, besides Allah Ta’ala, there is no human observer, the pleasure of obeying Allah Ta’ala is of a different kind; in such a situation, the danger of ostentation and display is reduced, and the hope for acceptance increases.
