Virtue of coming early to Friday prayer
Hadith 514
- (إنما مثل المهجّر إلى الصلاة: كمثل الذي يُهدي البدنة، ثم الذي على إثره: كالذي يُهدي البقرة، ثم الذي على إثره: كالذي يُهدي الكبش، ثم الذي على إثره: كالذي يُهدي الدجاجة، ثم الذي على إثره: كالذي يُهدي البيضة) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the one who comes early for the (Friday) prayer is like that of a person who offers a camel in charity; the one who comes after him is like the one who offers a cow in charity; the one who comes after him is like the one who offers a ram in charity; the one who comes after him is like the one who offers a chicken in charity; and the one who comes after him is like the one who offers an egg in charity."
